Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer classes for beginners or people that have never done yoga before?

Yes, we welcome beginners and anyone that is new to yoga. If you are brand new we recommend the empower class on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00AM-8:00AM to gain the basics, but you are welcome to come to any class. Like any physical activity that you partake in, you do want to make sure that you have checked with your Doctor first to ensure that it is safe enough for you. If you inform our instructors of any physical issues or constraints before class they will be happy to help you with modifications during class.

What do I need to bring to class?

Please bring your mat, mat towel, and water for all of the yoga and Pilate classes. If you are brand new, we highly recommend that you arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start of class. This allows us time to register you before the class starts, and the instructor can provide some tips for making it through your first class.

Do you have showers?

Yes, we do have showers in both the men's and women's bathroom. We also have lockers; but you must bring your own lock, and they can only be in use during your visit out of courtesy for the students attending the next class.

What do you recommend I eat before class?

If it is your very first hot yoga experience we recommend that you eat at least three hours prior to class. The heat, humidity, and all of the bending can cause you to feel nauseous. If you do eat before class, eat something very light.

Can I practice if I am pregnant?

Only if you have the clearance from your Doctor do we recommend for you to practice. We are not doctors, and we want to make sure you and your baby are safe.

4 Useful tips

1. It is recommended to drink half your weight in ounces every day to maintain a well hydrated body. Please make sure that you are hydrated when you come to class, and don't forget to replenish your electrolytes to have a stronger practice.

2. Please be aware that we start class promptly based on the schedule to honor everyone's time. Students are only allowed to enter class up to 5 minutes after class starts to avoid disruption of the meditative flow and concentration of the practitioners in the room.

3. Sign up for the classes that fit your needs:  the hot yoga classes are quiet and meditative practices, while the Pilates, Power Hour, and Zumba are more interactive, loud, and high energy.

4.  If you forget something, do not fear! We do offer yoga mats ($1), mat towels ($2), and shower towels ($2) for rent, and we also sell various products for hydration purposes.
